Need support through this process

I just searched through the posts and realized most of them are very old. Are there any people who just got diagnosed with D deficiency? I just started taking 10,000IUs a week ago and feel absolutely awful. I'm hoping to connect with others who are going through this. My blood work showed my level at 10. I've had symptoms for at least 10 years and severe symptoms starting 6 years ago. Hope there are others going through this so I we can support one another through this painful process. Thanks!

Taking Vitamin D2 is harmful. Even if it raises your levels it won't keep them up.

Magnesium is needed in addition to daily Vitamin D3. It'll balance your Calcium. Taking Vitamin D will use more of your magnesium.

You also need to eat/drink foods with potassium to balance your magnesium.

Once your D levels are raised, you need a maintenance dose to keep them at a steady level. D should be tested twice a year.

Still feeling a little crappy.... but had a very stressed/busy couple of weeks... it doesn't take much to drain my energy.  The panic attacks have been bad, but again... stress seems to bring that on too... go back to have my level checked next week... fingers crossed...

I was diagnosed in March... still feeling horrible also... even at 10 000 IU a day for the last 4 week.  My level was 13 when I was tested.  Started having panic attacks and vertigo last November, took until March to figure out I was low in vitamin d... it's been a real struggle the last few months, just hoping I will start to feel normal soon.  I am having a really bad couple of days... just glad I'm not alone

another thing, you need calcium. a low dose calcium daily (200-300 mg) can help a lot. I think the best solution is to take small doses daily of VitD and calcium togther (1000 UI VitD3, 200-300 mg calcium).

Most people get enough calcium from their diet. Vitamin D will make Calcium work better in your body. You need magnesium to balance your Calcium.
Vitamin K2 (MK4) is needed to direct the calcium into bones and away from arteries/soft tissue.

Too much calcium is bad and causes heart attacks and kidney stones.

1,000iu of Vitamin D isn't enough to raise levels.

I was just diagnosed two weeks ago. My level was 7.  I'm taking 50,000 iu per week of d2.  I've had two doses and started feeling worse. I feel like I can hardly walk!  The pain is awful. I've read I should be taking D3 and magnesium instead of D2.... Does that help the pain go away any faster?

You are NOT alone in this! I thought I was a healthy 43 yr old male, until I started having all these crazy problems last September. My doc finally checked my vitamin d level in December and it was 10.5!! I took vitamin d3, NOT d2, and in two months my level tested at 71!!! I've been feeling much better but not even close to back to normal. I highly suggest you take D3!!

Yes!  There are others.... me!   I just got diagnosed last week. I tested at 18.

I'm taking 50,000 iu a week of Rx D2, and 1200 iu of D3 a day.

I think I saw one other 2016 post.  But, we have each other for now...

Thank you for replying! It feels really lonely having this issue. It's hard to talk to others who have no idea what we are going through. What are your symptoms?
