bone density improvements without meds?

Hi, all.  I am a 59 year old petite,  postmenopausal, woman with osteoporosis.  My lumbar spine score is -3.1
I do not want to use the meds which are available and wonder if anyone here successfully improved their scores via focused exercise, weight vests, and dietary adjustments?

I read one woman's account online about how she turned it around completely using natural options and lots of discipline, but I want to be realistic.  I am looking for others who have improved their t-scores without medications.
Many, many thanks!

Hi, I'm looking into a more natural method as well.  I have just started exercising again, supplementing with D3, ( i was deficient ) using a product from New Chapter call Bone Strength and refining my diet.

Hi, I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis T 2.9 lumbar and Left femur nk... I am trying to work with weight training, and now taking a red algae supplement.  I am also working with my diet... and walking for at lease 20 minutes in the sun in the morning.   I am going to try to develop a program starting with these changes and adding more.

I am 67 and suspected i had problems intuitively, but now I know,  so the time has come to work on these things.  I had a fall a few years back, from a 7 foot ladder fell right on my coccyx and now have a 25% compression fx. in my T 10.

A silent disease often undetected , osteoporosis is a condition which makes your bones weak and more likely to break. Anyone can develop osteoporosis, but it is common in older women. As many as half of all women and a quarter of men older than 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis.
Taking these steps can reduce your risk of breaking bones and suffering from osteoporosis.
