Nervous

I am 38 weeks 3 days.  Getting induced in 7 days.  So ready to meet my baby girl but I'm getting nervous.  I'm not scared or nervous about having a newborn but I'm nervous about labor. I don't like not being in control.  Anyone else being nervous?

Well, yes they are.. But you should be in control almost All the time. As my midwife said, you can have a car accident tonight, or you can fall down a flight of stairs... Those have the same possibilities to happen than something going wrong during labor. But we have been taught that labor is dangerous, traumatic, painful and terrible through the last centuries and this misconception is deep in our cultures that we don't even give it a second thought.
I was terrified in my first delivery. I was shaking and feeling so vulnerable, just scared and panicky. I even didn't want to go in to labor just to avoid all the hospital stuff! But my midwife was just so human and gentle and sweet.. I became comfortable soon enough and everything went perfect. I got to choose every thing that was being done, from the amount of light, temperature in the room to the people who came in (as in number of midwives or doctor... Not just relatives)..
