Normal?

Ok so I'm 38 weeks and according to my OB I am 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced sorry if that's TMI… but I've been in and out of the hospital 3 times because of strong regular contractions that have been non stop since last Tuesday but they haven't made anything progress. This morning my lower back mainly my hips hurt and through out the day it got progressively worse. I did some light cleaning but mainly sat in my chair and worked on crafts all day and now the pain has gotten to the point where I need help to stand up, sit down move in any direction. What do I do? I can't get a hold of my OB and I've tried calling their after hours number as well. Like I've said I've gone in 3 times but I get sent home because the contractions that I'm having aren't progressing anything. Is this normal and what should I do?

I recommend taking a shower (since bath y probably just too complicated to sit down and stand up in the tub with the belly and all). I had contractions few days ago just like that, for over 3 hours I felt a lot of pain, pressure and contractions. I woke up my husband at 5am I couldn't deal with the pain, so we were preparing to go to go to hospital, I got a shower and it was a blessing. All the pain went away!
Make water a liked warmer than usual (I know with all this heat doesn't sound too appealing), and focus on belly and back.

Hope you feel better

If you're in that much pain go back in.  Doesn't matter about the contractions, they need to help you with the pain.
