Insecure after 4 miscarriages and now 8.5 weeks pregnant

VNX
Hi all

Not a native speaker so forgive me my mistakes. At the moment 8.5 weeks pregnant and had the first ultrasound last week and it showed a beating hearth!! A big relief after 4 miscarriages in the past 2 years (went wrong with the first ultrasound or even before). Although we had great news I can't enjoy this pregnancy (yet). Any tips how to get past my insecurity?
I already have 2 sons so I know I'm capable of having babies but still there is a voice in my head telling me this pregnancy also will go wrong.

Thanks for your advice!

I think that this is something that will haunt any woman that has ever had a miscarriage. I have had 4 as well and this is my 5th pregnancy. I am currently 20 weeks and 1 day. I had 1 early m/c @ 7 weeks saw sac but no baby. 2nd trimester loss @18 weeks (girl). Another 2nd trimester loss @16 weeks (boy). 4th was a chemical and currently pregnant with a baby boy!!! I am 20 weeks and 1 day. I was not more secure until I made it past 18 weeks. Being at this point now is such a huge milestone for us and I am thanking God everyday for being one day closer to our delivery date. Feb 2018. I hope u all the best and a safe pregnancy and delivery

Oh and come to conclusion that reason for my 2nd trimester losses was due to incompetent (short) cervix. I currently have a cerclage in place. keeping cervix closed and baby in the oven

You will be okay. I've been pregnant 6x and have had 3 babies. I'm sure the Dr has checked to see if your cervix is low or not, that's what got me to deliver my last boy , only one I carried to full term bc of the shots they gave me. Hormone shots. I have govt insurance so I didn't have the best OBs, I went out of town and I couldn't believe, after miscarriages and two live births, one that weighed 1 lb 6.6 oz (he lived) and one that was 3 lbs (he lived), that these shots for my low cervix, were what I needed all along. You don't have to have a low cervix to obtain these shots and now I think of it I assume you're probably already receiving them. Just in case you're not, I thought I'd drop a line. You and baby will be fine, sending loving thoughts and prayers your way. :)

Have you considered progesterone supplements to help your body support your pregnancy?

One of my closest friends went through the worry phase when she got pregnant again after a still birth case but we kept encouraging her and she kept trusting the Lord praying against negative thoughts.  She naturally had a healthy beautiful baby four months ago! God is faithful.  Best wishes to you both!

I think it would be only natural to worry after multiple miscarriages.  But you are almost in the clear which is once you pass the first trimester at 12 to 13 weeks where miscarriage is much less likely. You're almost there!  So, think positively and stay busy hon.  congrats and good luck

I felt hesitant to be excited after miss carrying also, I started feeling more confident after 12-14 weeks. Even now that I'm 28 weeks it's always in the back of my mind, I feel like it's natural to feel that way. Keep thinking positive thoughts and energy. Stress is not good for you at this time. Try meditation or keeping a journal about how your feeling don't hold it in. Best to you and your little one.
