accidental seroquel ingestion

I accidentally took a seroquel after having been stabilized for some time with no symptomatology .  I had awful hallucinations until I began accustomed to this drug.  In your opinion should you have gone to the hospital.  I thought I was taking one of the drugs that I am currently prescribed for a manic (late age onset) episode.

Hello~I see this posted a few years ago, but since others may see it with the same issues, I will answer. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but everyone is different. I always say to err on the side of safety and when something like this happens, then do go to the ER.

Yes same here this message is way after you are probably fine. Next time if something like this  happens call either a poison hotline, if they don't answer (they didn't for me), then call your doctor as they always have a on call doctor if that one isn't available and/or a pharmacist. But seroquel is for biopolar issues. So no for one pill I wouldn't have gone to the hospital. For a large dose or over dose I would have called the doctor and if they said it was too much had someone take me to the ER. This drug has side effects of hallucinations. Hope you are okay.

I had the same issue when I took one by accident which makes me suspect that this medication might actually be the type of drug that a street addict might wish to get their hands on,  After all, I do not have experience with any other drugs and do not even take aspirin so I literally felt like I was going crazy, had a headache and my body was itching like an allergic reaction,  This also caused hallucinations for which I had to actually lay down and rest it was that bad.  My boyfriend (66 years old) refused to take me to the hospital.,  He is very very cruel.  Nobody should stand by and let someone suffer like that but he sure did.  He also enjoys seeing me go through panic attacks.    Years ago, he was involved in a car accident, had a fake drivers' license, and I ended up being asked to go to the police station, put into a room and questioned because his license indicated he lived in the North Carolina when he was not.    Then he abandoned me (true story) and flew off to Mexico.  I was incredibly stressed but I am sure nobody in the world would leave this story.   Unfortunately, for him, I took a pic of the fake license, showed it to my therapist so now he will not be able to deny it exists like he is during currently.  I know this sounds like an irregular composition and just imaginary but it is, unfortunately, very true.  There are many other things I could also mention here but by now I am sure you completely understand the position.   All I have said is absolutely true and is a very honest account of my experience which I am now documenting for my records.   I have sure learned a lot dealing with a person like this - believe me I certainly have.

I know this response comes too late and hopefully things turned out fine. As far as going to the hospital, it would depend on how much you ingested. You would probably be fine if it was just the one time and was a fairly low dose (50, 100 mg or so). You would probably get quite sleepy. Of course everyone reacts differently and it also depends on what other medications you take.
