Unanswered questions about my echocardiogram

Back in August I gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby girl. A couple days postpartum I woke up to a heart rate in the high 30s low 40s. I went to the hospital had blood work done and was told my troponin enzymes were high. I was admitted and after several tests ( echocardiogram, CT scan, heart cath )  it was determined I had pericarditis and the beginnings of myocarditis.  I excepted the doctors diagnosis and was released the same day. Fast forwarding to now I just found out that I can read my results online. And the results of my echocardiogram have me wondering if they missed something.  According to the test I have three leaky valves. Also my inferior vena cava was dilated and it’s  collapse rate was less than 50%.  My blood pressure normally runs 90/50, that day it was 120/70. High for me but will within normal limits.  The research I have done all says they dilated inferior vena cava with a collapsed right less than 50% is a sign of pulmonary disease. I have tried contacting my cardiologist but I’ve been told it’ll be three months before they can get him to answer any questions that I have.  Was hoping this form could help me ease my mind, maybe someone here could read my echocardiogram and tell me if it’s worth even waiting three months to get back to my cardiologist or to look for another one.  I am a 27-year-old weighing 130. BMI is in a healthy range.

Hello~If possible, you definitely need to see a different cardiologist, you should NOT have to wait 3 months for help.

We have a wonderful heart health forum here, I have put in a request for your post to be transferred to them, or, you can look for them as well, I am sure they will be able to help you with some ideas, etc.

I hope you feel better soon and find a doctor that will help you. God bless you.

The day after I gave birth my feet swelled up twice as big as they had been during  my pregnancy. I have this weird pain in my chest, it was hard to describe but it was like my heart was struggling with every beat it took. I felt like I had ran a marathon. The doctors at the ER actually thought I was faking or looking for attention and gave me a drug to speed up my heart rate which I turned out to be allergic to. I got  A massive migraine, I broke out in hives, and my blood pressure skyrocketed to near stroke level. I screamed and cried in the ER begging for someone to help me and they just shut the door and let me lay there. It wasn’t till my blood work came back and showed that I had elevated troponin enzyme that they took me seriously.

The only thing they did was give me medicine that was supposed to help with the infection they said I said around my heart. They didn’t give me a follow up or anything of that nature just told me to call if I had any questions or if I had any repeat symptoms

I am 4 weeks postpartum and also experienced the 30-40 bpm resting hr after delivery. I saw my Dr who didn't seem conserned. It's gone now but I have horrible palpatations. Are they doing anything about your condition? Also did you have any other symptoms?
