Sunday Weigh-In, May 27, 2018

I am appallingly obtuse, have been wondering where Barb is and why the weigh-in post did not happen yesterday. I have also been watching the storm warnings in Florida and reading the stories. Duh, finally it clicked. Barb, thinking of you.

I doubt Barb would want us to post as if nothing is going on, but at least we can try not to sit passively and wait for her to come back and do all the work when she has way more serious things to think about. So, I'll be "virtual Barb," though as a motivator I cannot do anywhere near as well as she does!

Barb -- "Well, gee, everyone, I have been out in the high winds and massive rain lifting debris off my roof, and so when I got back inside I ate a WHOLE cream puff! It was delicious! But lucky me, I still lost two pounds this week, and some guy whistled at my muscles. (I forgot to tell you, I was doing this in my bikini. No point in getting my clothing soaked, after all!) How's everyone else doing?"

Me -- Hi, Barb, well, I guess I'm not so bad, I went down a whole .6 of a pound! (Did I mention that I am beginning to absolutely hate having a digital scale? But at least it is down, not up, I'll take what I can get!) I am working on a project for a teacher in my son's school that I have been doing a tiny bit at a time for two whole years, and it's so frustrating that I deliberately stopped at a convenience store and bought five -count 'em- five candy bars. I am on the fourth one. I have some Dr. Pepper stashed in the fridge, too, though I haven't opened it. (The candy was sweet enough.) The helpful convenience store clerk mentioned that the smallish size of Dr. Pepper I was buying was on a deal at the moment, two for the price of 1 and a half, or something. I looked at her as though to say "Get thee behind me, Satan," and I DIDN'T BUY TWO. Told her I was actually trying to kick the sauce, not to drink my carbs, and she glanced at the bottle for one nanosecond and said, "It's actually not as much sugar as in Mountain Dew." How on earth did she do it that fast!!?!?! Apparently one soda sinner recognizes another.

Here is hoping everyone is having a safe, sane Memorial Day, and failing that, does not blow away in the high winds.

Love,

Annie

Shoes are posted to my profile... the heels are 3.25" high, though it doesn't look like it in the photos.

Haha, AnnieBrooke - that "was" appallingly obtuse... lol

I must apologize for being MIA... I went up north (western South Dakota) for the wedding of a great-niece (kids grow up WAY too fast, don't they?) and I even had my laptop and my own internet connection with me so I had every intention of posting the weigh-in.  It just so happened that I was in an area that gets really horrible signals and we were so busy I did not even get a chance to turn on my computer for several days.  When I did get a chance to get online (on someone else's computer), it was only long enough to print my boarding pass to come home.

As for the tropical storm, it ended up being a dud... I think my husband said we got a whole 0.6" of rain here, though some parts of the state did get more.  The storm became more organized after it made landfall and other parts of the country got hit worse than we did.

Alas - no bikini - I really wish I could say (truthfully...lol) that I look great in a pink bikini, but dominosarah - I do have a great pair of heels that I wore to the wedding.  lol

Annie, I'm glad you lost 0.6 lbs... I, too, have often disliked having a digital scale.  Sometimes I'm good with whole numbers only.  I want to, either lose a pound or stay the same.  I get tired of dealing with tenths of a pound.

Sarah... I'm glad you didn't lose a lot because you know you shouldn't lose a lot when you're under stress like you are.  I'll go check your other thread for updates on your daughter but will keep praying that all turns well for her on the 18th. Just remember, you're the rock in her ocean right now, so you have to take care of yourself, so you can be there for her to land on.

I got back home this afternoon in the midst of a thunderstorm connected to the tropical storm.  We had not been in the house for more than 5 minutes after my husband picked me up from the airport when the power went off and stayed off for a couple of hours.

I have no idea where I am, weight-wise.  I tried very hard to stay on my eating plan while I was gone, but it was hard when I had people trying to get me to eat wedding cake, sandwiches and no end to the salty foods like sausage, bacon, ham, etc.  I even made biscuits and gravy for breakfast the morning after the wedding for about 30-40 people... I couldn't resist eating one biscuit with sausage gravy... :-)

I'm not going to weigh tonight, but I'll venture onto the scale in the morning after my swelling has gone down some.  Then I'll know where I am and what I have to do to get back on track...

Thanks for your concern... I do apologize for worrying anyone; I really thought I'd be able to be online, at least for a while every day... I had no idea I'd not have an internet signal where I was going.

I am down just shy of a pound this week.  Things are progressing quickly here so will be busy with my daughter these next couple weeks.  Surgery is the 18th.  I am hoping to just maintain my weight for now but i have a feeling that wont be the case.  I will update on my other thread.

I hope you are safe Barb.  Dont forget your sunscreen now that you are bikini bound!!

Here is a post just in from Barb:

"I went away for a week and then the Tropical Storm came, so a HA HA HA. I look GREAT in my bikini!"

Way to rub it in, Barb. All my empathy about your plight in the rain, wasted.
