I am appallingly obtuse, have been wondering where Barb is and why the weigh-in post did not happen yesterday. I have also been watching the storm warnings in Florida and reading the stories. Duh, finally it clicked. Barb, thinking of you.
I doubt Barb would want us to post as if nothing is going on, but at least we can try not to sit passively and wait for her to come back and do all the work when she has way more serious things to think about. So, I'll be "virtual Barb," though as a motivator I cannot do anywhere near as well as she does!
Barb -- "Well, gee, everyone, I have been out in the high winds and massive rain lifting debris off my roof, and so when I got back inside I ate a WHOLE cream puff! It was delicious! But lucky me, I still lost two pounds this week, and some guy whistled at my muscles. (I forgot to tell you, I was doing this in my bikini. No point in getting my clothing soaked, after all!) How's everyone else doing?"
Me -- Hi, Barb, well, I guess I'm not so bad, I went down a whole .6 of a pound! (Did I mention that I am beginning to absolutely hate having a digital scale? But at least it is down, not up, I'll take what I can get!) I am working on a project for a teacher in my son's school that I have been doing a tiny bit at a time for two whole years, and it's so frustrating that I deliberately stopped at a convenience store and bought five -count 'em- five candy bars. I am on the fourth one. I have some Dr. Pepper stashed in the fridge, too, though I haven't opened it. (The candy was sweet enough.) The helpful convenience store clerk mentioned that the smallish size of Dr. Pepper I was buying was on a deal at the moment, two for the price of 1 and a half, or something. I looked at her as though to say "Get thee behind me, Satan," and I DIDN'T BUY TWO. Told her I was actually trying to kick the sauce, not to drink my carbs, and she glanced at the bottle for one nanosecond and said, "It's actually not as much sugar as in Mountain Dew." How on earth did she do it that fast!!?!?! Apparently one soda sinner recognizes another.
Here is hoping everyone is having a safe, sane Memorial Day, and failing that, does not blow away in the high winds.
Love,
Annie
