Can alcohol related dizziness/lightheaded go away on its own?

My father has been a heavy drinker most of his life and he is now 62, recently hes been drinking more and more and now he is finally feeling the consequences. For the past 7 days every time he tries to walk anywhere in the flat he has lack of balance, he has had other issues but they appear to have gone away i.e.cramps, headaches and nausea...ive had an ambulance out and ive taken him to a+e, theyve both said the same thing, rest and rehydrate. Hes improving slowly but im worried i may need to take him to see somebody else? or maybe give him something? But at the same time it feels like everyone gives me the same answer... any ideas?

Does your father think he has a drinking problem? If he doesn't and continues to drink and have medical problems, the best you can do is respond on a ER basis when needed. The only way alcohol related dizziness will go away is to remove alcohol from the picture.Have you ever attended an Al-Anon meeting?
