I have sudden episodes of pounding rapid heartbeat after very little exertion

I'm a 54-year-old male in otherwise good health.  I exercise at least 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes on an elliptical or walk at least 2-3 miles.  I am about 20-25 pounds overweight, but I have an athletic frame. I have hypertension and my glucose is slightly high at around 110-115.  I currently take 2 types of Hypertension medicine.  My resting heart rate has always been between 55-65. About 2 months ago I started experiencing an irregular heartbeat only lasting around 30 seconds or so. My cardiologist changed one of my medications in early July.  That's when I think my current symptoms started.  Now every time I work out, have sex or do anything that requires the slightest physical exertion, I experience the heart rate change.  Any ideas?

EKG, Excercise stress test and an Echocardiogram. Also wore a 24hr Holt Monitor.  Nothing critical but I haven't sat down to go over the results yet. As stated I switched from Bystolic to Metoprolol.  I did switch back on the Doctors advice and the symptoms are starting to subside.
Well that's positive... What results did the echo show?
The doctor told me that there is no indication of any abnormalities. My heart is strong. He doesn't know why I'm having Palpitations. I'm wearing a monitor for the next three weeks to catch any episodes.  He thinks its a temporary benign condition.
Are you experience shortness of breath, chest tightness pressure.
Nothing other than the heartbeat.  Of course now that I have a monitor on I'm experiencing very few episodes.  I going to try an Elyptical workout tonight to see if I have any symptoms
Good plan!!
My Cardiologist also recommended a Fish Oil supplement. Is there a certain Mg and type I should take or is it "the more the better"?
More is never better lol... The golden ratio... Go for a trusted brand and low dose.

I had this over 8 years ago.  Needed 3 stents in the LDA due to 80% and 90% blockages. (widow maker).  Then changed my diet to Plant Based Whole Foods, no oil.  Cholesterol dropped 80 points in one week, blood sugar went from 128 to 85, lost 30 lbs and got all my energy back. Also, I don't take statins.
