Swollen throat and mucus after eating

For the past 15 years I've had an issue where my throat gets irritated (feeling of mucus coating, swollen) while and after I eat. I feel like I have to cough out mucus and "gag" it out. After the wet cough / gag / coughing up the clear mucus, I feel relief but sometimes it causes me to want to throw up since the food in my stomach rises too much.

It's the WORST with sweet food and processed foods. Like eating a single gummy bear will trigger a reaction as severe as a big meal. I also feel like carbs are worse than proteins. Minutes after eating a slice of cake I can feel the slimyness in my saliva and it makes me want to gag.

I've gone to a bunch of doctors about it before and I've taken omeprazole, nexium, prilosec, nasal sprays, etc. to no avail. None of them have helped.

My most recent doctor found out that I have H. Pylori, so I've taken medication for that. However, the 2nd time I went back it was still there. I'm wondering if H. Pylori could be responsible for my symptoms?

I've read around a lot recently and it seems like a lot of people with similar symptoms diagnosed with GERD / LPR seem to have had luck with Betaine Hydrochloride HCl + Pepsin + Digestive Enzymes in treating reflux. I'm not sure if I have low stomach acid, but I really want to give this a try.

However, I don't get why I have such a hard time dealing with sugar / sweets? It's like 20x worse than other foods / flavors. Basically eating anything triggers this mucus / swelling reaction.

I don't know if it's your problem, but I discovered anything coming from Corn (cornflour, cornstarch, dextrose, glucose-fructose, etc).
I get heartburns. I think it may be an intolerance or an allergy of something you eat.
