Drinking a small amount of Alcohol makes me sick. Why?

20 year old female. In high school I could drink perfectly fine, then had one night of over-drinking and throwing up and it has never been the same. Taking a shot makes me gag and throw up almost immediately (literally shoots right back up). When it comes to a mixed beverage, wine, anything, I can drink it perfectly fine but even if it’s just one drink/ glass I’m immediately feeling incredibly nauseous and close to vomiting.

So, alcohol doesn't agree with you.  Think your body is trying to tell you something.  I know it is popular drinking but it really doesn't bring about much good.  Shots are not necessary to having a good time. You may just have a gag reflux to the shots because you puked once.  Your brain hasn't forgotten and when it senses a repeat of that time, that's it . . . it makes you throw it up.  I believe they call it gag memory.  So, just don't do shots.
