Will my yeast infection clear up?

I’ve been taking tetracycline for about a month for peripheral dermatitis - I have a few more weeks to go. I have symptoms of a yeast infection that isn’t clearing up with canestan (pessary and cream). The yeast infection is beginning to cause some skin splitting and it’s very itchy and sore. What can I do while still taking the tetracycline and will the test infection just keep coming back? Thanks

Some women (a lot of us) will get yeast infections because antibiotics will kill our normal vaginal flora.  So if your doctor knows you he will often prescribe a medication for yeast infection at the same time.  If you are discovering this now, you may want to keep it in mind if you have to use antibiotics again.  As specialmom said, "Diflucan" is a good one for me, but your doctor will be the best one to give you a good treatment for the yeast infection. It is unlikely to go away on its own.

I'd see if your doctor could prescribe a systemic medication that you take as a tablet of difulucan.  You may need to repeat, but asking you to go two more weeks is too much to ask.  What you are using probably is not effective in general.  I use over the counter Monostat one day ovules.  The problem is, the issue of why you are getting the yeast overgrowth will not go away until you stop taking the other med.  Maybe using that med is no longer necessary and you can stop sooner than 2 weeks? So, check back in with your doctor.  good luck
