Does removing an ovarian cyst cause your menstrual cycle to change?

I got operated in July. They removed a dermoid cyst from my right ovary. Since then I got my first period after the surgery on the date I was supposed to get it. Afterwards I got  the second period 28 days later! However since that period I got 2 periods within the span of 15-17 days.  My periods are rather heavy. I have to Change my pad several times a day. There are a few blood clots as well but they are rather small and stringy. Is this normal? Anyone else experience these crazy and heavy periods after removing a cyst?

Your right ovary is probably still trying to "normalize" so your hormones are going to be "off kilter" for awhile. It could very well be another few months or more before it all settles down.
