Dr ordered an endoscopic ultrasound. Why didn't the Dr. take a biopsy?

I've been having stomach pain for about a month. My pc ordered an endoscopy. During the endoscopy, a lump that appeared to be muscular in nature was found. The Dr. didn't take a biopsy. He called to schedule an endoscopic ultrasound for further evaluation. Why didn't he take a biopsy during the endoscopy?

He must have felt the invasiveness of a biopsy wasn't necessary?  I'd take that as a good sign.  The ultrasound may give you the final okay that this is not cancer related.  He really must not suspect cancer based on the markers.  Let us know when your ultrasound is scheduled-----
