Hyperemesis gravidarum--  severe and persistent vomiting. Medication can help.

Pelvic girdle pain--  this is PGP which I had heard but never knew what it meant.  Key word is PAIN.  It is often short term and lasts for just the few weeks after delivery but for other women, it is long term pain.

I'll follow up with more to the list.  Add some if you care to as well.

Pregnancy Hypertension---  often doesn't lead to pre eclampsia and eclampsia but can.  This is high blood pressure that delivering the baby is the cure for. Signs are obviously, higher than usual blood pressure, seeing floaters or spots, headache, dizziness, bloating with pitting of the legs and ankles. They look for protein in the urine to determine if it is developing.

Deep Vein thrombosis--most common cause of maternal death after bleeding. pregnancy induced hypercoagulability . Heparin is given.  thrombosis is a fancy word for blood clots.  Pain in back of leg?  call your doctor.  Blood clots from vagina bigger than a quarter?  Call your doctor.

Infection--  of incision, of tears around vagina.  Ouch.
