Hi John. Wanted to see how you are doing? Any change with the new med? Hope you are coping alright!
I wish I knew how to make it all easier for people! I guess I hope it works. I had thought you were newly diagnosed but you must mean just this aspect to it. Do you have family, a wife and support at home? I think that can really make a difference--- can be good or bad depending.
Do you have family that is supportive? This is your first time on Depakote? I asked someone who is really knowledgeable to stop by. Why do you say it is doubtful that Depakote will help? Keep the faith! And often, it is a combination of drugs that work best. Latuda given with something else, something added to your Depakote. Etc. It's finding the right path for you specifically which is a bit of trial and error which I KNOW is really hard on you. Are you trying to stay away from benzo's for anxiety? Counseling can also be a big part of treatment. do you do this?
Gosh, I really don't blame you. That IS frustrating. What was going on when they diagnosed you? How old are you if you don't mind me asking. We've had an excellent community leader here who is on break but I may contact him to see if he has anything he can offer you. Stick with us, I hope that we can be of help to you and at the very least, a place to vent and give you support!
I have absolutely heard it is. When were you diagnosed and what led to the diagnosis? I'm glad you reached out for help. Come back and share how you are doing!
