Will having sex but not releasing sperm be okay ?

I am getting an IUI performed as soon as I ovulate this week. My husband and I are "saving" up sperm so that when the IUI is done, his count and motility are good enough. He was  told to abstain from ejaculation 2-3 days before providing semen sample. We have went 34 hours without any kind of stimulation but today we decided had sex but right before he was about to orgasm, he didn't ejaculate or finish because we knew we needed to let his sperm build up. Will this affect his sperm count or motility? We still have to go another 2 days before he can release. Will the semen he was going to release die  and we should start the countdown all over again...or will sperm still be strong when released in another 2 days? Thank you

Oh dang it!  I'm sorry to hear this round wasn't successful.  Hang in there.  Try taking your temp. First day you get your period.  Every morning before you get out of bed.  Then take it every morning. Your temp will rise when you ovulate and it will stay high until your next period unless you get pregnant and then it stays high.  I found it helpful for knowing what was going on!

Anyway, next round will be the one, I just know it.  Happy thanksgiving to you as well.  hugs

Hey how r u today?
Well I’m on the 16th day of my cycle. And I’m still getting negative ovulation tests. On previous times on clomid , I’ve ovulated on days 14, 17 and one month on day 20. So I’m praying sometime this week by next Sunday :( if not, I may not even ovulate. I have been getting my hopes up but trying to not get so down about it since I know I’ve ovulated late before.

Oh, duh.  I thought it was an absolute 2 days.
I hope I can be strong like you and get rid of carbs.  :)))  I'm going to start the weight loss challenge they have here.  It's just kind of a fun weigh in thing with no pressure but you can talk about the struggle . . . and the struggle is real.  LOL

Fingers, toes and eye balls cross for you, hon!

Hey! Sorry it took me a whilee to respond
Yes I eliminated breads, pasta, etc. I follow the Atkins diet basically.  And my son is almost a teen too lol.. time flies!
I am also just currently waiting on a positive Ovulation test and then I will call to go in the next day for an ultrasound and an iui. It’s an agonizing waiting game .. I can ovulate anywhere from day 14 to day 20... my cycles are weird lol.. I’m only on day 12.. so got a ways to go :( I’m so so nervous and hoping the clomid still works like it did a year ago.

I have heard of low carb diets being affective but wowza!!  I would love for you to share more about that.  Like, what exactly did you eliminate?  Breads obviously.  But that is such a big weight loss.  Good for you.  And yes, that keeps the hormonal system working better when you are closer to the right weight.  12 years difference, it will be so exciting to care for your new little one and maybe he will be a helper.  :>))  I have a 13 year old boy and a year ago he'd probably have been helpful.  Now he is turning into a teen . . . sigh.

Let me know how the HCG goes!

Life is so strange how it works out sometimes!  Almost the same thing happened to my sister. She had a baby unplanned and then it took almost 10 years to have another!  I was the opposite and couldn't get pregnant for years and then finally had my baby and then had another right after that one unplanned!  It's amazing what they can do with fertility these days!  You are young and healthy and wow, wow wow . . . 80 pound weight loss!!!  That's amazing!  How did you do it?  I'm sure that was a lengthy process!  I need to lose some weight right now, doctor says, and I'm struggling with it.  Oh well.  I'll keep working on it.

Anyway, well, once it is 'time' and you 'go' . . . let me know.  LOL

Oh my goodness. That gives me hope reading about your sister. My sister and I are 10 years apart. My son will be 12 this year so if this works, they will have a 12 year gap. And in 2015, I started the low carb diet. It took me about a year & a half to get from 226 to 142. And now I vary from 145-150 since then. I have just made low carb a lifestyle change. I was upset that it didn’t cause me to get pregnant although it did help me have a cycle every month whereas before I would go years without one.  Well I wish you the best in your weight loss journey! Trust me I know it’s very hard and if I can do it, you can. Nothing ever worked for me except low carb. And thank you for the wishes, I will definitely keep you updated!

Yes, two days is adequate usually so I really think you should be good.  So, ten years!  Wow!  Did you try a long time with your first?  Have you tried IUI before??  Fingers crossed that all works out!!  So, you are like 'on hold' and then you go, right?

Yes 10 years lol.. agonizing years. With my first he actually was unplanned when I was 17. But I’ve been married since then for 9 years and it hurts that I can’t have children for him. My mistake was waiting almost 5 years to see why I wasn’t able to get pregnant. I tried clomid several times but just recently was able to finally respond to clomid since losing 80 lbs since 2016. This will my first “treatment” other than medication,  We are so excited!  And thank you :)  yes we are just waiting for the “go” lol

I believe this should be okay.  I was told two days is enough to 'build' proper sperm count.  By the time he goes two more days, he is going to be in good shape for the needed sperm.

How long have you been trying?

Thank you for responding. I’m really hoping that they will still be strong  still in 2 days. I have been ttc baby #2 for about 10 years.  Our only problem is annovulation without clomid. His semen analysis was normal but we do have sex quite so I decided it would be a good idea to wait 2-3 days as opposed to every other day.
Quite often*^
