whats with pain clinics?

Pain Doctor office employees from my experience are difficult to deal with....I know they probably  deal with opiod addicts all the time and that experience has desensitized them to patients who come in for pain relief.....kind  of like cops who deal with criminals all day so they start to treat everyone like a criminal, but isn't that from being burned out and maybe the best thing to do would be to get another job...... After all it is their job.... and they get paid to do it... and we the people in pain are the ones who pay their salaries.....and they get to go home at night and live their lives while we are still dealing with pain.  Kindness and understanding goes a long way...........Maybe some doctors give the girls in their offices too much control.....thing is in a small town there are not many options.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Chronic pain is hard enough to deal with.  There are some people that abuse the clinics/doctors involved that have made it difficult for others. So, then doctors become skeptical of everyone because of those that were dishonest with them.  But the specialty of pain management would hopefully be empathetic to the chronic pain someone suffers requiring medication, right?  Id' hope so.  Anyway, sorry you have encountered less than kind or professional people.  And honestly, not to belittle anyone but the girl who checks people into the office and pulls their file really shouldn't have an opinion about patients.  I would guess they are just kind of job dissatisfied and take it out on patients more so than judging patients.  Does that make sense?

yes..........thank you you make allot of sense If a Dr. is in the business of treating pain and has patients who go to them for help with pain....... then it is their responsibility to train their employees to treat the patients with respect....and if their job has worn them down or burned them out then they need to go get another job. This kind of practice would draw people who are seeking drugs....Its just common sense so weed them out but do not treat us like  we all are seeking drugs...... and if you cannot tell the difference, get another job. Also if the pain doctor does not write scripts ever..............Then what the hell are you so suspicious of.
Anyway, no more pain doctors for me. I am going to try and work this out on my own. I need my dignity.
