Is it a hormonal imbalance or implantation bleeding?

So I haven't been.getting a period since August. I was on the 3month.injection but haven't gone.back.on.it since. I left it in August. And haven't gotten.a period since. On the first of Jan this year I decided to be active again. A few days later I got a period that lasted for only a day. I then.experienced some spotting 8 days later for about 3 days. Bear in mind that I also breastfeed on and off one week my son is drinking from me the next he isnt. I would just like to know if I could be pregnant because we did use protection the day it happened but I'd like to make 100% sure. Could it be a hormonal imbalance too? Please let me know.

Since you used protection the chances are small. You are worried that the spotting  8 days later was from implantation. If you are getting pregnant you should be feeling some changes by now. Why not run a home pregnancy test to be sure. I think it will be negative.
