Is facial flushing a symptom of Chiari and/or syringomyelia or related conditions?

I am 56 and have Chiari. I have just recently started feeling flushing, sometimes with tingling, in my face. It is very sporadic. I know this could be pretty common for my age, but I would like to know if there are any related conditions to Chiari, that might cause this flushing. Thanks!

Hi...it can be Chiari related.....I know that I had some tingling and it even felt numb and while it felt like that, I was told part of my face was sagging...almost like bells palsy  would look......I didn't feel or recall having a flushing feeling but I knew when it was happening.....I could feel it....not sure how I would describe the feeling....ask anyone near you when you feel this how you look....it's possible you feel it differently then I did....but do make sure your face is not drooping.

Hi again Selma,

Well, cervical spine MRI came back clear, thank goodness!!! I could have sworn there was something in there!

Over Christmas, I did have a virus in my neck as I experienced sharp pain in my neck. Also had mild pains on both sides of neck, itchy skin on throat and chest, and this flushing of face and neck. Maybe it was all related, and all has resolved :)

Focusing on staying calm! As my DD would say, if you're not in fight and flight, you're in rest and repair! :)
Glad to hear it has resolved....and most likely was related..

Slow and steady.....hang in there.
