Terrible Cravings after detox....

I just got through a taper detox from MCSContin 15mg. and oxycodone 10m(for chronic pain 9 yrs.) I'm down to my last MSContin tmw but even now I'm having terrible mind games.....I'm craving ANYthing that would get me high! That SUX!! I'm trying to keep busy but when you have no car, it's tougher. I can't get my mind off the cravings! All I have is this computer and the TV! HEEELLLPPP!!!!! I would go to an NA meeting if I could get there and knew of one.

Thanx to everyone who answered. I'm just trying to get from one day to the next. I wouldn't be having these problems IF I just stayed on my meds and quit trying to get off...then just to go back on them. The big problem has been just ME mis-managing my meds! So, it's MY fault if I run out or short.  :-(    I have to quit this see-sawing !   By the way, what I'm on is 15mg MSContin 2x/day and 10mg. Oxycodone 4x/day .  But I took a few extra Oxy's due to pain.

So you are running out early due to the" mis-managing" which puts you into wd's?
Possibly you are reaching a new tolerance level causing your body to require more? Lol. This is an endless cycle that everyone on long term opiates deals with. You're just feeding a growing monkey. Some monkeys grow faster than others however they all grow... The bigger they are, the harder they bite. You will come off when you are ready, desperate, or deceased. My only advice would be not to swap Suboxone for your pain meds.
Trade for suboxone? No, never. I don't trade my meds but I do give a few away. So, that makes me short for myself. I have 15mg. MSContin to take until I re-up on the 15th. UGH!! I have screwwwwwwwed up!

I don't know how old you are but once you get clean you will be hypersensitive to your pain for months. At least I was... I found pain that I didn't know existed! Diet, meditation, and activity helps me. I also sleep in a proper hung hammock. Broke back at 19. Diagnosed with degenerative disc disease at 38 and began opiate dependency. Wanted to get clean at 55 and went on Suboxone. Stayed on Suboxone for 7 years (not a good idea). Finally got clean and free at 62. I have pain however it is about the same as when I was medicated. I wish you luck in your journey!

Well then....I'm not sure that the people on this site (including me) are going to be able to help b/c this is a site to get off of ALL mind altering substances.  That's probably why your not getting the answers your looking for.  But good luck.

LOL....I could feel her exasperation when I'm sure she slammed the keyboard to put the word "Plan".....not laughing at you either, remembering how hard it was in the beginning to get clean!
Hot epsom salt baths, loud music, watching funny comic video's, these are a few things that I used during my detox to help.  Right now though, you just have to push your *** forward!  You want it, you will do it!  If you want to be free of having to plan your day around who, what, when, where and HOW to get more pills then keep pushing yourself forwards!  You can do this!  There is a freedom on the other end that I had totally forgotten existed b/c I had been so numb from all the pills.  It's worth EVERY ****** FEELING YOUR FEELING RIGHT NOW!!!
If your stuck at home currently what are you doing during the day....like routine?

Oh, believe me, I AM watching THE funniest YouTube vids........TRUMP and ALL his dumass-ness and Alec Baldwin, too. It just doesn't get any better!          I am NOT trying to "get clean" from my RX pain meds!! I have been going to a pain clinic ever since I broke my hip 10 yrs. ago. I am too old and in too much pain to have any quality of life without meds. I have to walk up/down stairs. NO car so groceries have to be carried in unless I use my Ol' Lady buggy. That's embarrassing....but....hey....no wheelchair....yet!

Your pain is going to feel worse right now.  Rebound pain is no fun but it does get better.  Your brain is playing tricks on you at this point.

How often do you run out of meds early?

Plan?? Is to see my pain Doc this Friday and re-up so I can function!
Do you have long term plans to get of the drugs ?
No because I wouldn't be able to function. My pain has gotten SO much worse(hip fracture) since I detoxed. I need to go up/down stairs; do my laundry, get groceries, etc. I don't have a car and Target is right across the street from my apt. complex.  I even have to use a push/pull cart just to get stuff, .....laundry, etc. It makes me feel old! I use Uber & Lyft, too for Doc appts. if my insurance co. can't take me.       I haven't slept in 5 days! It's my bed, too, so, I'm getting a new "Puffy" matteress this week, $$$$$$$ but I hurt so badly in bed I hope it helps!   I have a 101 day trial with it. crap $795 !~! I need that for the dentist!!
(oops, repeat) I have decided to buy a new bed in hopes that the new "Puffy Mattress" will help my pain at night.  I will still need pain meds, though. Not happy but that's how it is if I don't want to be miserable and a beeyotch all the time! plus my BMI is very low, like 14.0. I'm 5'4" and weigh 92. I can hardly eat but taking Ginseng to help energy and many more supplements......and Iron, too., B12, etc.
"Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream........"      And hurry up w/ the new bed, too !   "Puffy" or bust !

Things are not going well at all!! I feel TERRIBLE!!! Like I want to chew nails and spit tacks!! I haven't slept in daaaaaayyyyyys and with out any pain meds, my hip and shoulder are killing me with pain!! I rub that RX cream into my hip/leg but it doesn't help! All night I just flop back and forth trying to get where it's not SO painful.......but I'm like the Princess on the Pea ! There's NO way I will be able to continue without the pain meds. There's just no other way! I can hardly get up the stairs and that's with one foot at a time!......".OOooohhhh....Sister Morphine, can't you see I'm not that strong !!"   :-(

Methadone is like going from the frying pan to THE FIRE!!!!  NEVER take that sh#t !!!!! It's 10x harder to get off of and gets waaaay into your system and STAYS !
Yes it's best to stay on oxy. It was just a suggestion I've known people that have gotten there life in order on it as they have to see a counselor once a week and have random drug test. this was just if it doesn't apply Let it Fly

Not real physical W/D but all mental! Cravings for ANYTHING are killing me! I hate this because I have a refill on my anxiety meds. but it's not due until Monday! Hhhmmm......some "mis"management of my meds has occurred!  My pain doc has me on MSContin and 10mg. oxycodone .I take them as needed but it's prescribed at 2x 15mg. MSContin/day and 4x the oxy's per day. I have bad chronic pain from fracturing my hip 10 years ago. I tapered down to 1- 15mg.MSC/day now 0. I am not really looking to quit my meds, I just need to manage better and not take more than prescribed.
It is a good idea to try and re-evaluate your pain level.  You really don't have a true indicator when you're on the meds. When you're on opiates for a long time you actually get opiate induced pain. your brain makes more receptors to continue to except the opiates that you take . So when you stop taking them it takes a while for those new receptors to die out. which is why you continue to have cravings.
My chronic pain is from fracturing my hip and it is constantly painful! Without meds. I can hardly walk up the stairs to my apt! My S/O gave me a 15 mg. MSContin (was mine) so I took it awhile ago. So far, I'm still tapering to detox. Monday I will have my anxiety meds and sleep meds which will make it easier to leave the opiates. But.......then I have pain clinic in a week or so......hhhmmmm.....I really don't want to quit the pain meds. It's just too painful!!!
Sometimes I feel like I've been "Tied to the whipping post"!!!
