Barrage laser- loss of peripheral vision?

I was examined by my doctor this week and he said that I have lattice degeneration. He said that as of now I do not require treatment although he said should it progress I may need barrage laser to prevent retinal detachment. I did not mind it at first but now as I have browsed potential complications it was listed that barrage laser can cause peripheral vision loss. My question is:
1) How common is peripheral vision loss from this surgery
2) How likely is the progress of lattice degeneration
I am 31 male and my myopia is OD:-5.5 and OS:5

Lattice occurs in 6-8% of populations but in high myopia 10-12%. Most people don’t need treatment unless holes or tears in lattice and located top half of eye.   Rarely are people aware of peripheral vision problems.  Yearly exam by eye MD is needed
