Will my ever improve after a lens replacement due to wrong diopter lens?

Had cataract surgery in January and the surgeon implanted a 24.5 diopter lens.  I was essentially blind except for light and dark for a week.  They did a lens replacement of 18 diopter a week & 1/2 later.  My cornea is still swollen and I have inflammation (using drops for both).  It has been a over 3 weeks since my second surgery and I am scared that I will never get my vision back.  Near vision is disastrous and far vision is double and blurred.  Help

The only think I can tell you is get the best second opinion available to you. That was a disastrous error in IOL power on the first surgery.  The error margin is normally not more than plus/minus 0.5 diopters; yours was off by 7 diopters. Something really wrong with that pre-op calculation.

Thank you for your advice.  I'm very much at a loss, but am trying to get an appt with my old eye surgeon (he performed cataract surgery on my right eye in 1999.  That surgery was more complicated because of a childhood accident but it came off without a hitch.  Again, thank you.
Best of luck.
