Advice on the pill :)

I have been on the pill (femodene ed) for at least five years and have been very careful and meticulous about taking it around the same time each day and have not missed one pills or been late.  Over the last few months I have noticed my period has been coming slightly later each month so from Monday morning to afternoon to the middle of the night and finally on a Tuesday.  This month however I have got my period 3 days early so am still in the active tablets.   Last month's period was extremely light and only lasted a few days so I'm not sure if it has resulted in my period coming early this month or what.  My period has been a brownish colour and now it is more of a pinkish red so not sure why it's early. I would really appreciate it if someone could put my mind at ease and give me some advice, like is this something that can happen when on the pill?

The pill can cause a lot of different changes in the timing, length and appearance of a period. That's one of the reasons why people go on the pill. To make their periods shorter or less heavy, etc. I don't think there's anything unusual about your experience because it sounds pretty much normal to me.
