Can I take 8 500 mg tylenol in 24 hours?

Since last night I've been taking Tylenol for a very sore throat. Since I woke up today I was taking two every 6 hours as the label said, and I was supposed to take my third dose of the day (last one before I go to bed) about half an hour ago, but I can't remember whether I took it or not. Is it safe for me to take two now just in case I didn't? I'm worried about hurting my body but I also know if it turns out I didn't take them I won't be able to sleep...

I wouldn't if you can't remember.  A one time episode of taking too much Tylenol usually doesn't have any repercussions but that is not a drug to mess with outside of prescribing information because of liver toxicity associated with it.  The max dose IS 4000 mg.  You'd be right there.  But if you can get to bed without it, then go ahead and skip it.

If your throat hurts in an extreme way, see your doc to get checked for strep.  Hopefully it is  better. Viral sore throats usually start a cold and then peter out quickly into the other cold symptoms.  Let me know how you are feeling.
