weaning off beta blockers experience

does anybody have any experiences getting off metoprolol tartrate? I've been taking 25 mg a day (split in 2) for around 2 years now, I've occasionally gone to 50 mg a day but had to go back down Everytime. it was given to me because of PVC / slightly high blood pressure and sinus tach. it helped at first but I was sent to the ER 16 days ago for panic attack / tach due to smoking weed. ever since my symptoms have gotten so much worse. I stopped eating due to nervousness and lost 4 lbs over 12 days...they did a holter and said it was normal. I'm eating again but I noticed my dizziness, fogginess, etc, gets a lot better when my beta blocker wears off. today I decided to skip a dose. I feel a lot more alert, less dizzy, more energy etc but I'm still really anxious. my heart rate is around the same but I think my blood pressure is higher. I'm scared, I have a stress test tomorrow, is life without beta blockers even possible? how do you properly taper off 25 mg? Its just one dose, I just want to feel normal again. anybody have any tips or similar experiences?

I had an SVT ablation in 2017 and  was on Metoprolol 25mg twice a day for about 6 months - my cardiologist had me stop it 3 days before my surgery and the first day was absolute hell as far as feeling "normal" my heart was out of control and I was exhausted and feeling sick. After the first day I felt more alert and less tired like you mentioned. I know the side effects of most beta blockers are tiredness, confusion, irregular heart rhythm etc. I would contact your doctor about the weaning off it.

I don’t have any tips of how to wean off, but what I can tell you is that I’ve been on 75mg/day of this medication for 2 months. I am super tired every single day even getting over 8 hour of sleep. I have less chest pain now so that’s good, but my doctor doesn’t seem to concerned about the fatigue. I don’t know what to do. Sometimes shakeyness and dizziness too.
