My sleep problems starts after Diarrhea starts.

I either wake up with a sudden need to go to the toilet or have a sudden need to go to the toilet in the afternoon right before bed and that's when my sleep problems start. I sometimes have excessive urinating as well. I take one sleep tablet a night for one or two nights and then usually on the third night it doesn't work and I'm up all night. Then when I do get to sleep, I sleep way too much. When I take sleeping drugs I feel like a zombie when I get up and I have trouble coordinating myself. I don't like this drug at all. My Diarrhea is at its worst as well.

I tried explaining this to my doctor and he just puts me on a sleeping drug. Doctors don't seem to know what's going on. Is there anyone else out there who's having this same problem? The first drug I was given was Endep and now I've been given Phenergan. They both don't work on the third day. Endep was making me feel suicidal as well.

You need to first get your gastrointestinal issues under control.  Those should not be lingering.  That's where you doc can help.

If you're not satisfied with your doc's help for sleep, you can ask for a referral to a specialist in sleep.  Nothing wrong with asking.  Help is there.

If you're the self-help type, you'll also find much good info online.  The gold standard is a CBT sleep training program, but again you need to address any underlying medical or psychiatric issues with your doc.
