Got Genital Herpes without having sex

Hi please assist

Activities that took place: We were both nude. I massaged her upper body, my arms rubbed on the body (above the waist). Her back was against my chest (skin to skin contact). My left thigh came in contact with her buttocks for 15 seconds. I massaged her upper body then used the same hand to masturbate. Didn't have sex and there was no kissing.

Symptoms:

7 days later: had a itch on my mid inner thigh I scratched it with my heel and it hurt. Pimples faded away rapidly and were gone after 5 days. Didn't scab or ooze.

14 days later: top of my thigh felt uncomfortable especially when I went into the shower it felt like pins were poking my thigh as the water dropped on my thigh. No pimples were visible.

30 days later: pinkish pimples appeared on top of my left thigh but closer to my knee followed by more red bumps on top of my mid thigh. They were painful and they hurt more when I went in the shower. These pimples all had a hair follicle in the middle (mimicking folliculitis). They would shrink in a day or 2. Didn't scab or ooze. I randomly had tingling sensation/numbness near my knee this would only happened when I would flex my thigh muscle or when I bend my leg (this doesn't happen on its own, only when I would make movement such as flexing my thigh muscle or when I bending my leg).

32 days later: Same pinkish pimple appeared on my forearm (x1) but closer to my wrist (hair follicle in the middle). No pain at all.

34 days later: Pinkish pimple appeared on my under my right chest area (x2). No pain at all.

36 days later:  saw a blister lookalike it was flat and on the shaft of my penis (closer to the head) this blister didn't hurt and disappeared in a day.

37 days after: I noticed that my penis head(the part closer to my shaft) was red and had inflammation. (Not the whole head just the top right area). Didn't feel sick and it didn't burn when I urinated.

40 days later: Pinkish pimples with hair follicle in the middle appeared on my Right thigh (autoinoculation from left thigh rubbing onto the right thigh?)

53 days after: Pinkish pimples with hair follicle in the middle appeared on my neck.

Both of my thighs still feels uncomfortable and irritation can be felt especially when I'm sweating or when clothing rubs against my thighs.

I heave read online that herpes often looks like folliculitis and the herpes can also cause folliculitis (herpetic folliculitis).

I'm planning on getting married should I get tested for HSV after this encounter?

I have never had sex.

You never had any risk. Your genitals never came into contact with her genitals. The skin-to-skin contact we refer to with herpes, HPV and other STDs means genital skin-to-skin contact, not other skin. Other skin, like the skin on your thigh and chest, are too thick for the virus to penetrate.

Genital herpes infects nerve groups. Genital herpes infects the sacral ganglia, so if you get genital herpes, the entire genital area, or "boxer short" area is included. You wouldn't get symptoms anywhere but your boxer short area. Symptoms on your neck, arm, wrist, etc., would be from something else.

Again though - you had no risk here. I'm just explaining things you may have misunderstood from your reading.

You wouldn't autoinoculate yourself by thighs rubbing together. Autoinoculation means that you touched an outbreak in one area, then infected another part of your body and infected that area. For example, if you had a new infection of genital herpes, and touched an outbreak, then touched your eye, you could infect your eye. The only places you can infect are mucous membranes - your genitals, your mouth, your eyes.

I see no reason for you to test for anything. If you think you have folliculitis, and it's recurring, you might want to speak to your doctor about it to see if you need treatment for it, but that won't be caused from this encounter.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you so much for answering my question auntiejessi, you're very sweet.
I have full faith in your expertise however I have a few questions:

1) Does tingling/numbness caused by HSV happen randomly on its own? or can it happen with movement such as tightening or flexing of the leg muscle or bending of the leg?

2) If folliculitis is caused by HSV is the folliculitis confined to the area of the herpes infection ex: person has herpes on the thigh would folliculitis only show up on the thigh and not on other areas of the body?

3) Not sure if you have information on folliculitis but did I contact folliculitis from having skin to skin contact with the women? I read that you can get folliculitis from contact sports

awaiting your response :)

1) Does tingling/numbness caused by HSV happen randomly on its own? or can it happen with movement such as tightening or flexing of the leg muscle or bending of the leg?

No, it would be whether or not you were moving. If you are having the symptoms with moving your leg, you may have an injury to the area or a nerve, and you should see your doctor if it doesn't improve in a few days.

2) If folliculitis is caused by HSV is the folliculitis confined to the area of the herpes infection ex: person has herpes on the thigh would folliculitis only show up on the thigh and not on other areas of the body?

Correct. You are only infected in the area you were exposed to it. If you were exposed genitally, that's where your symptoms would appear. They wouldn't appear on your neck, arm, etc.

3) Not sure if you have information on folliculitis but did I contact folliculitis from having skin to skin contact with the women? I read that you can get folliculitis from contact sports

You can get herpes gladiatorum (which means "mat herpes") when you are a wrestler. Wrestlers have a lot of body friction with other wrestlers, and if someone has a cold sore, this can happen. HG is hsv1. If someone has hsv2, that area is covered by the clothing and wouldn't transmit.

Listen, you are obviously worried. You are doing a lot of deep research, and seem to be trying to convince yourself that you have herpes. I don't know if there is guilt from this encounter - maybe you aren't supposed to have any sexual activities before marriage in your culture, or she was a sex worker - I don't know. Guilt doesn't equal risk. You had NO risk.

See your doctor for your folliculitis as that may need treatment (it's not herpes), and for your leg tingles and numbness - that's also not herpes.

Hang in there. It's going to be okay.
