Should a Lymphs (absolute) level of 3.2 (which said high) indicate cancer?

On the CBC report the normal range indicated a max of 3.1 so its barely over but i am still concerned.

Have you tried H2 blockers like Pepcid for the stomach? They are antacids, and underneath it all they really are antihistamines.

My grandson just had a routine CBC test done and he had 5 levels "flagged." His GRA was 1.5, GRA % was 33.2, HCT was 36.7, MCV was 77.8 and MCH was 25.6. He has a history of anemia so we were checking those levels. His dr said he isnt anemic... so what do all these low numbers indicate? Im just confused cause she didnt mention them at all.

"CI" ?

Yep, I would get the hsCRP test. Although there are a lot of reasons to not take statins, they are a powerful anti inflammatory.

Have you educated yourself yet about the powerful role that gut bacteria play in the overall health of some people? Or have you tried various elimination diets?

CI -chronic inflammation- sorry.

I have not done a great deal of reading on gut bacteria, nor have i tried any eliminating. I have really just quit eating very much at all because practically everything hurts me.

As a general thing, chronic inflammation is linked to heart disease. One test for that is called hsCRP.

Inflammation occurs when the immune system get stirred up.

I  have terrible arthritis... have had both knees replaced. I was told years ago i have osteoarthritis. Id say im chronically inflammed. Haha but in all seriousness, that sounds like something i should look into.

I also have a huge varicose vein in one of my legs that hurts all the time. Idk if that has any connection though.
And as i read symptoms if CI, i definitely have all of them except the weight gain. I did have weight gain for years but assumed it was due to menopause or something.  It has slowed now and ive even lost some weight. I have IBS and diverticulitis - constantly battle with sick stomach... like every single day. Ive had stomach ulcers.
My results also showed low BUN and low bun to creatinine ratio.  Low vit d and low b12.

Okay then, we can pretty much rule out any strange immune system problems influencing the heart -- unless you're too young to have typical clogged arteries.

What kind of immune system problems?

"So, with leukemia, the platelet count will always be low?"
Not necessarily. Platelets are made in the bone marrow. Leukemia cells can eventually multiply so much right inside the marrow that they "crowd out" the platelet producing cells. The same can happen to the red blood cells and the white blood cells. But probably in most leukemia patients, their white blood cell count in the blood goes way up before the marrow is seriously affected.

Lymphocytes are the immune cells usually involved in fighting a virus infection. Since yours are a little bit high, that tells us that you probably have a virus and so then we figure that virus is what is causing your symptoms. But if neutrophils were high, we'd first suspect a bacteria.

But then, things could be a lot more complicated if the virus is just stirring up some underlying immune system problem. Is your heart condition something other than clogged arteries?

My neutrophils were at 5.1, well within range according to the report.

I had a stent placed years ago. So, just clogged arteries pretty much.

Well, you are correct that when a blood cancer causes easy bruising, that's because the blood cancer has caused the number of platelets to go low. But since your platelet number is okay:

Have you perhaps been taking lots of aspirin lately?

Yeah, actually i probably have. Lol that makes sense.

So, with leukemia, the platelet count will always be low?

Hi, there's no reason at this point to worry about leukemia or any other cancer. You probably have a virus.

What symptoms did you have to bring about the CBC testing?

It was just routine because I have heart issues.
But as i looked at leukemia symptoms, i have several of them. It just scared me. I read a lot of posts on here and it seems that even with an elevated lymphocyte number if your platelets are in normal range, theres no cause for worry. I just cant help it. I stay tired all the time, have lots of joint and muscle issues/pain, bruise easily, etc. Just worried me and i immediately started looking for answers and was led here.

Thank you for your reply!!
