the difference is not big, did you test hbsag quant regularly?was it very stable?anyway i personally want much more data on taf before changing my tdf regimen
- Before starting tenofovir: Hbs Quantitative 18.000
- After the end of Tenofovir in 2 years of therapy: dropped to 7.000
- then in the last 8 months with TAF: it increased from 7.000 to 9.000
From the perception point of view what I like while on TAF:
- increased appetite and no nausea (that existed on Tenofovir)
- I feel way more energic and I don't get exhausted easy on TAF
What is negative on TAF:
- I feel dehydrated all the time, no matter the quantity of water and urine is always more yellow
- decreased libido
Blood test:
- normal hemoglobin
- platelet count around 200k
- HBV always und
- normal ALT and AST: both under 22
- normal white blood cell count
- Fibroscan: 6.8kpa
- ultrasound normal
- kidneys normal
Gallbladder issues:
- small cholesterols cysts (they weren't on tenofovir)
- mud on the gallbladder (existed before starting TAF)
- while on TAF I had an alimentary toxic infection because of some liver ate out: and the issue lasted 1,5 month because of the Gallbladder was enlarged and they also discovered the small multiple cholesterols cysts (under 0,4 millimeters).
i read an indipendent study that TAF improves creatinine and bone issues on those with abnormal tests but other tests worsened i dont remeber exactly which tests but they were kidneys function tests, maybe uric acid...anyway i think it is early to judge taf and i prefer keep tdf for now and consider 1 small dose of nivolumab off label as soon as hbsag goes less than 300iu/ml to reduce the possibility of high alt flares. mine should go there by 1-2 years
Thank you very much Stef for your input. Very valuable. And you seem to agree the safe and smaller step's style. Which when it comes to health, is an intelligent strategy. My worries are with the fact that I feel regressing looking at the results and not progressing.
