I feel out of my body what does that mean?

Recently I’ll be listening to someone or be doing and activity and I’ll start to think. Am I really here right now? I feel high but I’m completely sober. I feel like I’m not in a reality.  I notice it happening more often. I also feel dizzy when I close my eyes to go to sleep. I overall feel very out of body. Is this normal? What does it mean? How do I fix it?

Yes, this sounds like derealization and depersonalization.  Here is a definition from the go to medical dictionary, the Merck Manual:  persistent or recurrent feelings of being detached (dissociated) from one’s body or mental processes, usually with a feeling of being an outside observer of one’s life (depersonalization), or of being detached from one's surroundings (derealization).  Sounds about right, no?  Treating anxiety often helps alleviate the symptom.  Do you do anything for your anxiety?

On any new meds?  How bad or frequent is your anxiety?  Google derealization and depersonalization, these aren't disorders by themselves but sometimes accompany depression or anxiety if it's bad enough.
