Can an IGG HSV2 positive become a negative ?

I recently did HSV2 testing where my IGG initially have a result of 1.2
The lab ran the rest again and it came back 0.8. What does this mean for me?

Totally agree with Geminii.

Something that low is very likely - more than 85% likely - to be a false positive. You got another test to confirm it, which is the absolute right thing to do, and you're negative.

Thank you
Just when they ran the test again she said she didn’t think the first result was wrong and that my second result was still very close to borderline, so I was confused by this.
It's not close to the borderline - not really. You have to get to a 1.10 to be positive.

When was your last exposure? Why were you testing?
Also, when you consider that at least 50% of results between 1.1 and 3.5 are false positives, your .8 is not really close to being suspicious.
Recently started a new relationship and we both decided to get tested together. Just to give the other person peace of mind. They used the same blood sample to run both tests so I’m not sure if thats why they results changed. But at first it was 1.2 then it went down to 0.80
They used the same blood sample? Maybe they ran a confirmation test to make sure.

At 1.2,  it's at least an 85% chance of being a false positive. Since the second was negative, I'd go with negative.
