Did i miss menopause?

im a active, healthy 58 yr old woman. I had one pregnancy. no issues giving birth. I went off the pill in my 30's which alleviated my pms and depression. ive been sexually active up until 10 years ago. I had normal periods then really light ones. I bleed maybe a couple times a year. I didn't have menopause symptoms. could I have missed it? certainly  I would have known...right?at one point 10 yrs back the dr. gave me pills to help 'shed' and increase period scheduling. im into natural alternative medicine. my body was doing what it had to I felt. since periods  have never been a issue why interfer? I suppose there must be a test of sorts to determine menopause is done? what do I look for?
ive checked out articles but no answers.

If you haven't gone a full year without a period, you aren't in menopause yet. Some women have no symptoms or just mild symptoms of declining hormone levels.

I too, never had a single symptom minus the absence of my period. While my sister has severe hot flashes and other symptoms I just never experienced.

I think sometimes it can be subtle. I get more hot flashes now that I'm past menopause than before. Sigh

I'm having a similar experience.  I'm 51 yo and just went through a 6 month stretch without a period (hallelujah), but then period returned.  So, I'm in Menopause (?) But have no other symptoms either.

So, I believe it is "peri menopause" until you are truly period free permanently.  Then you have gone through menopause.  What does your doctor say?  Have you had any blood work done to check hormones?  This would give insight as to whether or not you are 'done' or closing in on being done.  I think you are lucky to not have other significant symptoms!

I'm going to call you lucky!!  :>)  I think menopause is different for every woman as to how severe and what age.  You may not be totally done yet if you are still having occasional periods (even once or twice a year).  But that you didn't have hot flashes and mood swings, awesome.  Some women do have a milder situation.  There are tests they do to see if you've been through menopause.  They do blood work and check your estrogen level which should be low and your FSH level which is normally higher if you have been through menopause.  https://www.healthline.com/health/menopause/tests-diagnosis  I'd get that done and go from there.  It may give you the answers you seek.

She is lucky! I had ALL the symptoms. Hot flashes so bad that the gas company came out to change our gas meter twice!
