What could cause skin to hurt to touch after drinking alcohol?

Almost every time I drink alcohol, the following day I experience an explainable feeling of pain on the surface of my skin. It hurts to the touch and feels tight almost like a severe sunburn (with no redness or anything). It occurs on my torso, rib cage, shoulders, back, neck, and sometimes even my jaw line and face will hurt. The pain begins about 24 hours after I start drinking and I found it only is relieved after I sweat, ALOT. The following night when I go to sleep I will sweat buckets and wake up drenched and the pain will be gone. Has anyone experienced this before or know what could be causing it?

Hello and welcome to the forum.  Thank you for the question, it's very interesting.  Please do speak to your doctor about this issue.  You are not alone. Here is an older thread you can copy and paste that has others and their situation very similar to yours.  https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Neurology/Skin-Pain-After-Drinking-Alcohol/show/1722262  Do you feel this could be an alcohol allergy?  It does sound like this is something too look into.  Hives and itchiness of skin are common with alcohol allergy.   Here is some information on alcohol intolerance. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/alcohol-intolerance/symptoms-causes/syc-20369211

Could be that alcohol can drain electrolytes, especially in those who drink heavily and have a poor diet.  But you know, just don't drink, if that's what causes it.  Could be a allergy to alcohol.  Who knows?  If your diet seems a good one and you're pretty healthy otherwise, don't drink, find a different way to have fun, because this doesn't sound like fun.
