Leg sweats in bed before sleep

I'm a 36yo male. This has been a problem for most of my adult life. As soon as I lay in bed my legs and only my legs start sweating profusely from my thighs to my ankles. If I can manage to fall asleep it doesn't wake me up and seems to go away, always perfectly dry when I wake up. I can't put sheets over my legs, much less a blanket or the bed gets soaked. I currently have 3 large fans in my room aimed at my legs every night, and it doesnt help much. My best solution has been sleeping pills and not laying down until I can't hold my eyes open so I fall asleep before it starts. Would love to fix the issue rather than drug myself to fight the symptom of it. I've read all the posts I can find on the subject, but they're all either sweating all the time, or once you go to sleep, not just when trying to get to sleep. Any advice would be appreciated.

Haven't heard this one before, usually it's not limited to the legs.  Might try the same approach for normal night sweats, which include stress management and using in-bed relaxation methods to cope.  Your best answer will come from a doc who examines you.
