Harder to lose weight after menopause?

One thing that I really worry about is the issues with weight control post menopause.  I'm currently 6 months with no period so well on my way to be done. . .  but what are the issues with weight that happen?  What can I expect and what do I need to do?  I've already had a few years of struggling to keep the weight off.  sigh.

Ugh, I can relate, I have been past menopause for many years and it is very difficult for me to loose weight, it was hard enough when I was still having periods. For me, I just have to exercise more ( I take long walks) and really watch what I eat; it doesn't seem fair.
