Old sex partner got a low positive igg. Should i get tested?

Hi, someone that I had sex with (twice, protected) tested positive (1.61 igg) for hsv2 around six months after we had sex. Neither of us have ever had symptoms. She doesn't seem to be interested in getting confirmatory testing, so how should I proceed? I know testing isn't recommended without symptoms but does her result change that? Thank you!

This is going to be entirely up to you. a 1.61 probably has about an 80% chance of being a false positive, if not higher, and since neither of you have ever had symptoms, my guess is that it is.

If it were me, I probably wouldn't test. You had protected sex with her, so even if she had it, the chances that you got it from her are very, very low. Unraveling a false positive can take months, several hundred dollars and loads of stress. It's up to you, though. Some people prefer knowing.

There's a decent chance you'd get a false positive, too, but it's really up to you. There's no right or wrong answer here.
