Should I be worried about my toddlers CBC results?

My son is 3 and since April I’ve noticed you can see some lymph nodes on the left side of his neck. His pediatrician told me it’s because he’s thin and not to worry. Well just a few days ago (we’re now in July) he has a 1.5 cm node pop up behind his ear. He got some bloodwork done. His pediatrician isn’t worried and said it’s probably just his body fighting off an infection. The nodes in his neck are larger than normal too. All of his bloodwork came back great, minus these two:

—Lymph absolute: 5.1   x10’3/microL
Range is : 1.1-2.8

—Lymphocytes: 50.4%
Range is: 33-45

WBC is right in the middle of range, RBC is fine, platelets are good. Is there a worry in this? I worry about leukemia

Hi, kids tend to get more extreme reactions to infections than adults, including swollen nodes and elevated blood counts. Their immune systems are just learning, so to speak.

So there's nothing unusual here. Btw, seeing that it's lymphocytes likely means it is a virus infection - not bacteria.

No doc would be worried at this point. This might repeat again and again.
