Diabetes 2 test

Hi l am 48 and overweight but eat a healthy diet but worried about the risk of type 2 diabetes. l last had a full blood test three years ago and was normal , A few month ago my doctor gave me a finger prick test and he said it was normal , does that prove l dont have diabetes or do l need to take a full blood test where they take blood with a needle in your arm, l hate that. Also l bought a Dus 10 urine strp home test kit . If the result is the colour blue its normal, green means some glucose and brown colour means a high level, When l wake up in the morning l got a green or light green, but during the day l took two tests and got normal blue. Could meals or food affect the result. Should l be concerned

Hi there and welcome to the forum.  Normally, a blood draw every year or so that includes glucose is the way that one is screened. You fast prior to that and having eaten will affect your blood sugar.  https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/type-2-diabetes/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20351199  I'd consider a full work up checking sugar and cholesterol both.
