does your weight fluctuates on the same day. just asking
I weighed in this morning at .2 of a pound higher than last week, which itself had been a many-week low. I think this is all the activity on the new house, because though I missed a meal or two I haven't really been watching my intake. (Except, I did make it a point not to eat a salty meal last night. Excess salt does bump up my water retention.)
Still painting in the new house this week, and sticking close to our son, who is working his way through the transition to his new school. There is simply a lot more homework, which at his middle school and last high school, he has managed himself. But it became clear he needed a hand with charting it and scheduling it, because there's just so much. His grades on the papers he has handed in so far have been good -- the work isn't beyond his understanding -- but the sheer quantity really did snow him under. The teachers so far are accepting late work, but I don't know how tolerant they will be in the long run if everything is late! So one day when I was supposed to be painting, I was home with him all day, supervising and supporting him in sticking with his homework. He had been at the school only 8 days at that point and had been doing 2-3 hours of homework a night, and he still had 14 more hours of homework to do just to catch up. I told him he simply had to get real about this and not do anything else after school until he gets used to the pace.
One of my sisters who is rarely here came to town this week to see our mom. So all of my sisters (five of us) had a get-together yesterday. Just the five of us haven't all been together in one room without more family in the mix, in ages. It felt pretty nice! (Even though what we were talking about was my mother's care. Mom is doing OK and lives in her own house with a husband younger than she is, but she hasn't given a durable power of attorney to any of her kids, and hasn't signed a medical power of attorney either. Her husband isn't *that* much younger and isn't in great health, so it's pretty stupid not to have some backup on this against the day when *he* might have an emergency. He does a lot to take care of her, but I don't think she would be able to do much to take care of him.) Anyway, this past few days, big sis also came and saw our new house (presently with ripped-up carpets and kitchen, hanging wires and half-painted surfaces, and of course eau de cat). She was dutifully complimentary. lol I get along a lot better with her now that we're adults than we ever did when we were kids.
My week upcoming will include painting, and dealing with the builder, and lighting a candle under the fence guy, and buying a bathtub (! lol), and then beginning to think about doing taxes. Ugh! What a week!
Hope yours is great!
