Does a cyst effect your hormones?

Hi I've had a cyst on left ovary. Been on waiting list nearly a year so not seen gynae yet but will do soon. I exoect its got bigger also my tummy looks like I'm pregnant. Does a cyst effect your hormones or can delay periods? I haven't had a period since February now.

How do you know you have a cyst? Have you taken a pregnancy test? When I had a simple ovarian cyst, my symptoms were actually heavier periods. Then it passed and it was the worst period ever. Cramps and lots of bleeding. They can lead to irregular periods but no period since February? That seems off. I did have a period of my life in which my thyroid was slow and had periods every three to 4 months. But it showed on blood work. When was the last time you had blood work?

I had an internal  ultra sound a year ago. Said about the cyst and an established cyst so likely to have grown in the last year. Been in referral list to see gynae which will be a year by time I get seen in August. Don't think I've havent had  a full blood count done for long time so maybe could get thyroid checked.  Other than that doctor thinks it perimenopause.
