Allergy seemingly disappeared overnight?

Hi,
Fit the longest time, I was allergic to cats. It sucked, because I absolutely love them. Since it wasn’t a severe allergy, I still had them, and also went on allergy shots for a bit as well.

Two and a half weeks ago, I had a minor carpal tunnel surgery under twilight sedation. Ever since, I’ve had no allergy symptoms. My cat can sit right next to my face and I’ll have no runny nose, no congestion, no sneezing, and no itchiness.

It’s as if the allergy just up and disappeared after the surgery. No idea if the two are related, but it’s odd that I noticed this change immediately after surgery.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? What do you think triggered it? Trying to make sense of it.

That is interesting. Did it continue? Since we are often allergic to dander, maybe your cat was shedding less of this or had been bathed to produce less? Are you still not allergic to your at? Would be great if that is the case since pet allergies aren't fun if you want to be with your animal.
