T6 spinal rods and screws & broken neck

Hi, I broke c2 c3 c4 and c5 in my neck and T6 thoratic spine last august, I believe the surgery on my neck was fusion as they took a graft from my hip. My spinal surgery consisted of 2 rods and 6 screws. I’m v pleased with the results of my neck surgery, but my spinal surgery gives me a lot of pain and the screw heads are very visible and stick out quite a lot. No mention has been made of the tods and screws being removed, but people often ask me, when they see them. Could they be removed and could this help relieve some of the pain, which seems to be muscular due to the strain my posture puts on them?
Thanks Rob

going back to the surgeon who did this is the wisest choice.

I would definitely revisit a surgeon for advice on this. That doesn't sound right that you have pain from the screw heads. Sometimes screws can get broken, believe it or not. You really need to get this checked out by a spine surgeon.

I believe you should ask your primary physician if removing the rods and screws is advisable at this time.  Only he/she can actually answer your questions.
