Weight Ins?

In Oct and Nov I had 7 ct scans and was just recently ordered another this week. 53mSv total. (Also had dental xrays in the earlier year, along with a chest xray and hip xray)
Scans are as follows
Oct 9th ABDO/PEL. Oct 10th Chest. Oct 14th ABDO/PEL. Oct 15th ABDO/PEL. Oct 18th HEAD. Oct 27th ABDO/PEL. Nov 12th ABDO/PEL. March ABDO/PEL.

They where diagnosing, then following up, then surgery complications, then diagnosis for SMA syndrome, then diagnosis for Nutcracker syndrome. Then a follow up this march for SMA and appendix.
I understand "Risk vs. Benefit" But I wasn't even informed of the risk before I could decide if I wanted to take the risk. I would have FLAT OUT DENIED. Actually I tried denying my last scan a couple times before I just gave up.

Do we actually know the risks of CT scan radiation and cancer? Is this something I should be loosing all my sleep over ( Like I am? )
