Thanks for the quick response. My Dr,( Glen Pait. UAMS ) has given me all of the possible risks and complications . Infections 2%, meningitis, and rarely paralyzes.
With all the pain I am enduring, I think surgery it the best option. Thanks again
Hi blamb!
Your surgeon is definitely right. That large subarachnoid cyst can really compress the nerves leaving your spine and cause all these kinds of symptoms. I think we can remove the term "idiopathic" from now on since that word means "no obvious cause".
Before you proceed to surgery (which I think is your best option), discuss with your surgeon all the risks and complications that can arise. Be sure that you are well informed of these before you go under the knife.
I hope that after this operation your symptoms would improve or eventually disappear. Good luck in your operation!

I had been diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy over year ago and have been on Lycria. Also MRI scans have detected a large sub arachnoid cyst on the spine ( T1 through T4 ). Is there any connection between them? I am scheduled to under go surgery in June. The neurosurgeon said it was compressing the spinal cord. Also said it could be causing some of the nerve pain in my upper legs. Any thought?
