Chronic sore throat/ mood virus

We don't know what is it exactly, but my family is sick with the same thing for 4 years now. People who just talked or communicate with us dont get it , but if the person have a dinner with us, sleep the night in our house, my sister who was using my clothes - they all got it. It looks that the incubation period is about 6 months or more and it looks like you have to contact with a person for a while to transmit it. Now let me tell you that there are plenty people in many countries have the same thing going on - I know about 40 people at least in Russia. I was trying to research this and went through every disease,  and every symptoms. Tried many empiric treatments and I can say - this disease does react to certain antibiotics but long period treatment is needed. The more I learn the more I understand that this condition is more like leprosy type of reaction, especially taking into the consideration damage of nerve system+ toxicity + skin problems etc etc etc, many people found micobacteria that wouldn't grow on specific micobacteria media  and the only micobacteria that doesn't grow like that is micobacteria lepra. In our case after many years of this disease spots, scars, depigmentation, wrinkling, rashes starting to appear and I don't know any disease that would be developing so long except tuberculosis or leprosy. If it was a virus it wouldn't stay on objects for so long, and wouldn't be reacting to certain antibiotics. I have 2 master diplomas in different sphears. But   I realized it's so difficult to prove the doctors you are really sick. Most doctors will not try to figure what's wrong with you if you say you are depressed, you have aggression connected to this condition. I think it's necessary to  post this problem all over the internet, may be even contact the scientists. Also I am going to Mayo, I am very curious if somebody ever tried to go to really good clinics and what is their experience? I know that macrolids work and I also know that there are temperature reactions to the macrolids and I ve read a lot about leprosy reactions to antibiotics. And also I ve read the studies that cloramphenicol, macrolids, dapson work on leprosy. Let's say micobacteria lepra is sensitive to all of mentioned above. I can also say - fansidar works. Works pretty well. ANETODERMA - looks like this condition has a lot to do with so called SORE THROAT/MOOD VIRUS. Again, nobody knows exactly what is it and what it causes, but dapson ( leprosy medicine) is among the one that helps a lot. I would invite THINKING PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS to continue this conversation. I AM SURE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE CAN GET THEIR LIVES BACK!

In other words, is there a type of cell that most or all of these have in common?

This is a very interesting theory, and it is refreshing to see someone thinking critically about this illness.

For a while I believed it is something that attacks subcutaneous skin tissue, connective tissue and/or the nervous system. The main aspects of the illness seem to be:
- skin thinning / infections
- Mood disorder
- Fatigue
- sleep issues

This seems to point to a direct infection of the skin and/or nervous system, or somehow otherwise affecting them.

It’s messes with neurotransmitters as well.

This all seems to point to the primitive brain and HPA axis, and likely the gut and possibly skin.

The question is, what type of pathogen could impact these specific areas?

Hello,

I have contracted a mycoplasma (which is neither a virus not a bacteria), its a kind of new man made organism that hides inside our sells and is extremely resistant to antibiotics.  It is pretty much impossible to get rid of it.  I contracted it in Singapore 4 years ago and I feel that it is getting worse.

Since we seem to be a chronic flue like illness chronically, a lot of things that I have came across recommend Vitamin C at high dosage and it works.  I am trying this Vitamin C treatment with Fish oils (Omega complex) that is suppose to work at a cell level to get rid of the mycoplasma (antioxidant + Lipids)

Some good info to look into:

Good luck everyone and stay strong!

Hi there,
I have something similar, which I've been battling for at least 10 years.  I would say that it's all in my head, except for 2 things.  1) Physical symptoms occur before mood symptoms, 2) It appears to transmit to other people, and 3) I'm almost certain that it can transmit to mice/rats (multiple cases degraded into aggressive and reclusive symptoms while losing weight and developing respiratory issues)

If you really feel like helping to solve this, perhaps you could try to confirm the mouse stuff.  If it looks like they can contract the disease, then a necropsy of the mouse could reveal a lot.  I have a feeling that we're going to have to figure this one out on our own.

P.S. I was on the same trail with leprosy.  I had a biopsy done at a leprosy clinic (not fun), but results were negative.  Maybe that helps you narrow things down a bit.

Good luck, and please keep us updated!

Have you tried high doses of Vit C? I have had something similar for about 5-6 years. After 3-4 years doctor said it was lyme disease. No meds helped, but started taking 3000 mg a day for about 2 months and it helped a lot. Also added. Vit A (krill oil) which aided my recovery. I have stayed off the Vit C for about 2-3 months and was experiencing severe depression/mood swings, pain in joints and muscles. Took 500mg today and have seen almost instant improvement. Hope this helps.

I have chronic sore throat, gerd, stomach pain and anxiety. Came from nowhere....till I remembered I had the flu right before these symptoms. Was put on anti depressants which backfired so I stopped 3 days in...also take zantac once in a while which i dont like to do. Decided on cognitive therapy, natural acid reducers available at local health food store, am on a low acid high alkeline diet and aloe vera juice to heal digestive tract. Its hard not to be discouraged but I am learning to treat each day as a new day rather than a continuation of the previous day. I have set backs but I have the tools and knowledge to get past them. Good luck to everyone.  Remember: Time heals everything so be patient and open minded. You may need a combo of holistic and traditional western medicines before u find what works best. I don't think there is a cure...but it can be maintained.

I had a bad flu approx 2 years ago, then after it i suffered bad anxiety and depression, head shocks, fatigue and a host of other symptoms, this lasted for a year. I thought i had MS as i had all the symptoms i even took out life insurance as it was that bad. I now eat plenty of alkalising foods and plenty of Vitamin C and get plenty of exercise as this is the best way to prevent viruses surviving in your body. Doctors were baffled with it, i was on antibiotics for 3 months but they didn't help. :(

I was very surprised to read this description and find that there are more people with this condition. I've been having trouble with this for 5 years now. During the first year I had a severe personality change (became unusually aggressive), lots of skin problems (fungal infections), the chronic sore throat and stuffy nose (specially at night, or when I'm slowed down). Recently my sister complained of feeling her memory and mind were weak, as well as having a sore throat for over 3 months. I'm still trying to figure what else to try. I'm taking an antidepressant (Wellbutrin) that helped with the mental symptoms, but I'm still far from normal (specially emotionally). I hope we can find some treatment. Thanks for the poster of the article.

I am a 19 year old male and I have been sick for months now. It all started back in January, I got a horrible virus, I assumed it was the flu. Anyways, I got over the sore throat, stuffy nose, fever quickly, then started experiencing extreme anxiety and depression and absolute extreme fatigue.  I got over that, now my whole body aches and is stiff. It's been this way since April. I have been tested for countless diseases and conditions, like multiple sclerosis, diabetes, cancer, thyroid stuff...etc. I've been trying to remain positive and drink a ton of water, which has helped. I'm still experiencing aches and pains, stiffness (especially in my shoulders and neck, and the back of my legs), general malaise, fatigue, etc. Ugh this is horrible and I believe I caught this virus.

I have heard of this. It is a virus that attacks the immune system. When you really think about there are tons of different viruses out and about. Hard to stay away from something that is so prevalent. Especially this one. No body fluid exposure necessary.

Until someone of some magnitude comes out and says that this sickness is real, you wont get much attention from any doctor.  Most doctors I see light up when you say you are depressed because it gives the perfect outlet to let you out the door, take you money and do nothing for it.
