well im 39.5 weeks and the doctor told me that next week when if i havent given birth yet she was going to to an induction..wat is that???

same thing for me i had my 38.5 week exam and if my baby doesnt show by aug 8th my next apt date i get to set my date for induction the following week im so excited im ready to get this baby out of me!! I need my body back

i forgot to tell you. there are other ways your dr can induce you its just that using petocin is usually the most common. there is also a jelly (not sure what it's called) that causes you to dialate just like petocin, but the dr can insert it to your cervix and will probably cause cramping... don't forget, you can still ask for an epidural.

an induction is where you will check into the hospital and the dr will probably give you a medicine called petocin through an iv. petocin causes you to go start dialating and going into labor. she could possibly and probably will pop your bag of water if it doesn't happen naturally. that will make your labor speed up realllll quick. when you're fully dialated, you'll push your baby out. if there are any problems, you could possibly have a csection. rare in an induction's case, but possible. you should be excited! this is the day your baby will be born! let us all know how it goes, i'm probably headed the same route in a few weeks. good luck!
