Thank you for your posting.  You really have educated me because I have never heard of someone being born with a thyroid. It is sad that in all these years I have not been exposed because I am aware of other organs missing but just never thought about the thyroid.

Please excuse my questions but do you mind sharing how you found out/what age and how it has effected you physically/mentally? How you are doing now?

I truly appreciate your posting and want to thank you for sharing about yourself.

Take care and best wishes!

My sister in law posted about 1.5 yrs ago .. she was born with half a thyroid .. they only found it out upon surgery to remove what turned out to be a huge nodule that filled up the other space and looked like a thyroid on ultrasound!

Welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure any regular posters were born without a thyroid. There are quite a few that have posted at various times.
You can search for threads about it in the archive and find at least half a dozen members if not more that have posted about it in the past.

I have one such member in my friends list, but she is just starting college and is probably busy with that right now.
