Strange sudden burst of involuntary breath?

I'm a healthy 23 year old male. Not sure what it is but I have been doing it for a couple of months. Every now and then just out of the random, my lungs will involuntarily suck in a small burst of air. It doesn't hurt or anything, just kind of curious if anyone else has done it or knows what it is. I have had allergies for quite some time and I have a very mild form of asthma. It hasn't caused me any problems that I know of, just something that I notice every now and then. It's hard to explain but it's almost like a pure oxygen bubble being dropped into my lungs.

That happens to me too every now and then it hasn't been a consistent thing I haven't pin pointed the cause or reason I'm just glad to to find out there are others this happens to.  I didn't even know how to explain it to look it up.  But its like after you have been crying hard for a while then when you stop your lungs will take in air all by itself but for me it's just a quick take in of air and not so dramatic and only one time and it gets me by surprise so it startles me and I stop what am doing to see if it happens again or if something else is going to happen to me but nothing does.  Then I think about what could have caused it but i can't figure it out. And no one seems to know what it is and if we should be concerned or how to keep it from happening again.  It seems harmless but it's not normal and I don't like it.

You posted awhile about marylougarza831.  Wondering if this still occurs for you?  Does sound very uncomfortable and disconcerting.  What does your doctor say about it?
